About Sue McNenly
Sue has had a love of precious, miniature objects since she was a child, fueled by an early visit to the Queens Dollhouse in London, a marvel of small scale engineering.
After 20 years in the investment industry, in a sculpture class at The Alberta College of Art and Design, she discovered that working with precious metals on a miniature scale brought her creative dreams to life in a way no other medium could. Funny enough, Sue signed up for a PMC weekend workshop in 2002 and never attended the second day because it bored her to tears:) Years later she did a double-take when she saw the beautiful jewelry that metal clay artists were making, and she was hooked
Her framed miniature vignettes immortalize cherished and wacky moments of her childhood......the wonky hair-do on picture day...wearing flippers around the house...learning to tie shoelaces in the great century before velcro.
Every picture tells a story.
